Library Resources
The DuPage Narcan Program (DNP) has several resources to prepare libraries to respond to an opioid overdose.
The DNP operates as a train the trainer program. To access Narcan through the DNP, all participating program sites must have a signed DNP Participation Agreement and designate at least one staff person as a trainer for other library staff.
Libraries in DuPage County
Libraries located in DuPage County are eligible to participate in the DNP through the following steps:
1. Fill out a Participation Agreement. This form is designed to signify your library's participation in the DuPage Narcan Program. Please only submit one form per library.
2. Library staff must designate at least one person to be a trainer for the library. Staff can view a recorded train the trainer session to complete this requirement.
3. The trainer(s) at the library can now train other library staff. The DNP has resources to assist trainers, including a slide deck that may be used in library trainings. Libraries are welcome to tailor the training slides to the needs of their library.
4. Fill out a Request Form to request your initial supply of Narcan for your library. Only one initial supply request should be submitted per library.
5. If Narcan is used at the library, one staff person must send in a Naloxone Administration Reporting Form through this Resupply Request within 5 business days of Narcan use. Select "Use of Kit" as the reason for request. Attach the Naloxone Administration Reporting Form at the bottom of the Resupply form.

Non-DuPage County Libraries
Libraries outside of DuPage County can find an organization designated to serve their county through the Illinois Overdose Prevention Providers contact list. Cook County libraries have the option to coordinate with Cook Co Dept of Public Health, by email at denise.holman@cookcountyhealth.org, or through Live4Lali.
